Industrial Mission 2011 — France
Welcome to Poly-World 2011’s website. This year’s mission is flying to Europe
This web site was developed with the objectives to present the Poly–World 2011 mission. You can find information regarding all the activities we organized in preparations of our international mission.
The Poly–World members assume total responsibility for their mission. They must find the required funding, organize the industrial tours in Quebec and abroad as well as plan and execute all logistic tasks for the mission.
Industrial and cultural tours in Québec and abroad encourage graduating engineers to:
✓Examine and target the technologies common to Canada and the visited country;
✓Observe how the technologies are integrated through the different modes of production, management of human resources and protection of the environment;
✓Compare the performances and the resources of the Canadian industry to the foreign industry as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the enterprises in the various sectors;
✓Discover state–of–the–art technologies existing abroad that could be applied to the Canadian industries and thus foresee business and technological transfer opportunities;
✓Develop interdisciplinary skills such as entrepreneurship, leadership, critical thinking, organizational and observational skills;
✓Broaden their horizons to new and diverse cultures.
Upon return to Canada, the members write a comprehensive report specifying the particular characteristics of the various sectors studied. A copy of the report is provided to each partner and sponsor of the mission. In addition to the exisiting reports published from previous missions, Poly–World now benefits from a great library of articles on innovation, economy and the past–targeted countries.
This project is supported by the Poly–World Council, which is formed by Polytechnique's CEO and President, the International Relations Office Director, an Air Liquide Canada Manager, the Head of Mission, the Mission Coordinator and formers Mission Coordinators.
The Poly–World Council is responsible for the selection of the destination.
